Heidi Michiels, Restaurant Manager
Heidi grew up in Belgium where her parents owned a restaurant. At the age of twelve, she was helping her dad in the kitchen. That's how she became interested in the restaurant business. Her parents encouraged her to study at Spermalie Hotel School (Bruges), and she followed their advice. After finishing her studies, she started traveling around to learn about different cultures and to explore the food and beverage industry in various countries.
In the year 2000, she came to Aruba. After working at Le Dome Restaurant for a short time, she spent seven years working at Fishes and More. In 2010 she joined L.G. Smith's Restaurant's winning team as restaurant manager.
Geordino Ruiz, Food and Beverage Server
Geordino grew up on the One Happy Island of Aruba. He never studied hospitality. A good friend noticed his social skills and encouraged him to get a job at a restaurant. In 1999 he started working as a part-time server at Tony Roma's Restaurant. A job opportunity opened up at L.G.Smith's Restaurant in 2004. Working here, he learned what good service is all about. He started working late night shifts, got a chance to work the dinner shift, and he loves it!
